The Last Worker Will Compete And Be Showcased At The 78th Venice Film Festival
The last worker was revealed for Switch and various other platforms earlier this year. Posted by Wired Productions, this is an intriguing project developed by Jörg Tittel and a talented team from Wolf & Wood, a studio highly regarded for its VR projects.
Very little has been revealed about the game, but you can get an idea of what it will be from the PR description below.
Released on all platforms in 2022, The Last Worker is a narrative adventure centered on our struggle in an increasingly automated and dehumanizing world. Set in a lonely, oppressive yet oddly beautiful environment, The Last Worker is a unique blend of first-person storytelling, work simulation, and stealthy strategy game. Combining an artisanal art style with unique immersive gameplay mechanics in an epic setting, the game features a moving, challenging and comedic storyline with rich characters played by a star cast.
The initial reputation of The Last Worker has grown steadily, as it was shortlisted for the prestigious 78th Venice Film Festival, which runs from September 1-11. It will compete for a Golden Lion in the VR Expanded category and is the only video game to be included; its first chapter will be shown to jury members and accredited participants (using Oculus) at the festival.
We talked at length about the game with Jörg Tittel earlier this year; he highlighted the project’s bold ambitions, its reflections on the place of gaming in the arts, its optimism for the Switch gaming experience and more.
We can expect to find out more about this title in September.
