A cast of seven table top RPG titles Dimension 20: The Seven, the following season of the acclaimed video game series created by Brennan Lee Mulligan. The 10-episode season premieres Wednesday, August 18 exclusively on CollegeHumor’s Dropout.tv.
Actual gameplay events follow real players and a gamemaster playing through a mod of a tabletop RPG, like Dungeons & Dragons. The format has been around for a few years, gaining popularity recently with events featuring the cast of Strange things and, more recently, the writing and animation team of Rick and morty (playing D&D at Comic-Con).
Dimension 20: The Seven sends players back to Fantasy High, the setting for the first two seasons, which is Mulligan’s D&D world crossed with high school society as we can remember in the 1950s to 1980s. The seven are a group of teenagers “taken prisoner by the wicked of Fantasy High: Year One”, States a press release from Dropout.
As a full-fledged adventurer group, the group could be shattered by the impending graduation of half of its members. Players will be tasked with earning their GEDs, finding the missing superintendent of the school system, and “sav[ing] Spyre’s world of infamous forces seeking to destroy it.
Dimension 20: The Seven stars Mulligan as the game master and brings former players Erika Ishii, Emily Axford and Rekha Shankar back to the table. They are joined by newcomers to the Aabria Iyengar series (Exandria unlimited), Becca Scott (Geek & Miscellaneous), Persephone Valentine (Quick times at D&D High) and Isabelle Roland (Gymnastic).
