Howie Mandel ‘doing better’ after fainting at Starbucks
Howie Mandel assured fans he was fine on Wednesday following a report he was hospitalized after fainting at his local Starbucks.
“I am at home and I am better”, the America has talent said the judge. “I was dehydrated and had low blood sugar. I appreciate the excellent doctors and nurses who took such good care of me. Thanks to everyone who reached out, but I’m fine! ”
A few hours earlier, TMZ reported that Mandel, 65, was with friends and his wife, Terry, at a coffee chain location in Woodland Hills, Calif., when he collapsed. In a photo obtained by the outlet, he appeared to have been sitting down by the time the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived. He was reportedly tested at a local hospital for suspected hypoglycemia.
Yahoo Entertainment contacted a representative for Mandel, but did not immediately receive a response.
Mandel’s health crisis comes days after he underwent an endoscopy and colonoscopy. The TV personality posted a funny video from his recovery room.
Mandel has struggled with mental health issues such as severe anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder all his life. In June, it opened to People on the feeling that he “lives in a nightmare”.
“I’m trying to anchor myself. I have a great family and I love what I do,” he said. “But at the same time, I can fall into a dark depression that I cannot get out of.”
“There isn’t a waking moment in my life when ‘we could die’ doesn’t come into my psyche,” he added. “But the comfort I would get would be that everyone around me was okay. It’s good to hang on to OK.”
