Get a Closer Look at the Monsters in Dying Light 2 Stay Human

Night has come in our new gameplay video, so grab your flashlight and join us, as we explore the secrets of a dark zone. Take a closer look at the different types of infected, come face to face with a bird, and try to get out of it in one piece. But this will only be possible if you check out our tips. Are you ready?

One thing is to know your enemies. Another, know their weaknesses. We’ll cover both, just to be sure. So who are all of the monsters you will encounter in The City? Let’s say you would be infected. First of all, you might think it’s just the flu because the symptoms are very similar. In other words, if you weren’t living in a post-apocalyptic city overrun by a deadly virus, where you would know too well it’s more than that, and your race against infection would begin.

You would probably also have a biomarker – a special bracelet that shows the stages of your disease and how close you are to the turning point. If you couldn’t find enough UV light or Antizin in time, the symptoms would get worse and worse, until you couldn’t even speak. Then your biomarker would turn red, and that would be a straight path to becoming a Volatile. And once you’ve turned, there’s no turning back.

After you reach the bend, the thing you wanted most – UV rays – becomes your worst enemy. Stay in the sun and you will turn into a monster wreck, a Biter. You will lose any scraps of consciousness you may have had and continue to wander the streets mindlessly until you die of the light.

But it doesn’t necessarily have to get that bad, although that is rather relative, because if you let the virus progress in the dark, you will become the strongest monster of all – a Volatile. Fast, smart, and deadly, this is the one thing you would never want to come across. So our first tip should be pretty clear by now: stay in the UV light and use it against the monsters. This will protect you from both the infection and the infected.

But exposure to light is only one factor that defines what monster you will become. There are more, like the chemicals that fell on the city in the past. Speeding up the progression of the virus in sick individuals, they caused their bodies to change too quickly, which, in turn, led to various mutations.

For example, if the virus took hold of someone’s vocal cords, he could become a howler, an infected one who was both too scared and unable to fight a human, so he calls out and alerts those most able to work with his cry. piercing. Don’t let him spot you. Another product of the chemicals is the Demolisher, whose body has grown extremely large, especially his hands, and his skin has hardened with a stone-like tissue. He can charge or hit the ground with his fists to create a kind of shock wave as well as throw extremely heavy objects, so watch out for flying rocks. Against the Wrecker, you’ll have to rely on your agility.

But there’s also the Banshee – smaller, but so skillful you won’t see it coming. She’s quick and takes you by surprise by attacking you from the rooftops. If you can fight it, your strength will be your best bet. And then, some monsters mutated in the most unpredictable way.

The Revenant has a curious ability to upgrade and summon Infected nearby with substance from the growths on his back. It is rather rare. You will only find it in specific places, and only at night. But we’re not sure looking for it is such a good idea. Unless you are ready to fight an army.

So the next tip would be to never enter the chemical clouds of The City, and when fighting those who did, adjust your tactics to abuse their weaknesses. And since we’re on the “no entry” kind of advice, this one should follow naturally: Don’t walk through dark areas during the day. That’s when all the infected are there, hiding from the sun. It is a good idea to use this time to explore the streets and return to the dark areas at dusk, when they have gone hunting. This doesn’t mean that you can be careless, as there are still monsters, even Volatiles, that lie and wander around. That’s when our improved stealth mechanics come in handy. Don’t rush and think about your next steps, and you’ll get there without a horde of infected chasing you.

And it’s worth taking your chances in the dark areas, no matter how dangerous they are. They’re teeming with valuable loot, with Inhibitors possibly being the most valuable of all. Now these chemicals are the ones you really want. They will increase your skills, allowing you to fight better, jump higher, and run faster than any other human. But it also has a darker side. You will have to find out for yourself, if you can survive long enough.

Until then, we’ll continue to show you other items from the world of Dying Light 2 Stay Human, with parkour and combat tips to come. If you still think it’s only a matter of time before you turn, why not get a first glimpse of what you might become?
