Swery’s Quirky ‘Debt Repayment RPG’, The Good Life, Is Due On Switch This Fall
Hidetaka Suehiro, better known as Swery, has a loyal fan base who adores his offbeat titles – Deadly premonition and Deadly Premonition 2 are of course among the best known. While the actual game quality may be haphazard in its outings, its creative and eccentric storytelling certainly brings intrigue to each new project. The next stop will be The Good Life, which is definitely one to watch.
After a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2019, it was originally planned for PC, then Switch was announced as a platform for a 2020 release. It then moved on to spring 2021, and now PLAYISM has taken over the publishing functions and it has a new target release window for fall of this year. It is being developed by the Swery team at White Owl, as well as by Grounding Inc. – a team “led by Yukio Futatsugi, creator of Panzer Dragoon and Phantom Dust”.
As you can see in the trailer above, this “Debt Repayment RPG” looks pretty bonkers – it’s also a mystery murder where you can transform into a dog or a cat; this is probably just the beginning of the weirdness.
Are you a huge Swery fan who plans to try this out?
