What is the nationality of UFC bantamweight star Adrian Yanez?
Adrian Yanez is an American fighter and is one of the UFC’s biggest prospects. The Hispanic bantamweight finished Randy Costa in his main card fight at UFC Vegas 32.
The knockout extended his winning streak to seven consecutive fights and continued a fantastic start to his UFC career.
Yanez landed a contract with the UFC after finishing Brady Huang in 40 seconds in Dana White’s Contender series in August 2020.
Since then he has remained active and won two more fights by knockout before beating Costa. He’s now up there with Francis Ngannou, who has the longest active winning streak taking out their opponents.
However, it was by no means an easy victory for Adrian Yanez. Costa put on the show from the start as he found the mark with his jab time and time again. At one point in the first round, Costa had landed nearly 50 strikes against Yanez’s 11. It was a completely one-sided turn before Yanez returned to the fight in the final two minutes.
The momentum had changed, and that was enough for Adrian Yanez. He grew up in combat and took center of the octagon in the second round. The future star finally finished the fight after a few hits to the body and an uppercut that went through Costa’s guard.
The UFC clearly has an exciting prospect on their hands.
Adrian Yanez predicts Cory Sandhagen’s winner against TJ Dillashaw
Yanez and Costa aren’t the last exciting bantamweight to feature on the main card. The event will be marked by a huge fight between Cory Sandhagen and TJ Dillashaw.
Yanez gave his prediction for the main event in an interview with John Hyon Ko of Sportskeeda.
“Honestly, I think [Cory Sandhagen] gets a decision in five rounds, ”said Adrian Yanez.
It will be interesting to see if his prediction is true, but for now, he will profit from his own victory.
