E3 2021 will take place June 12-15 as a reimagined all-virtual online event. Nintendo, Xbox, Bethesda, Square Enix, Sega, Bandai Namco, Ubisoft, Capcom and others will post new video game announcements, trailers, release dates, and more.
Nintendo’s new WarioWare for Nintendo Switch will include the usual micro-game madness when it launches in September. Players will pluck armpit hair, pinch their noses, squeeze tubes of toothpaste, and more, all in seconds-long game pieces that can be played cooperatively.
WarioWare: unite! will also include the usual roster of Nintendo-themed microgames developed by the veteran character of WarioWare Inc. 9-Volt. This time around, the collection of 9-Volt games inspired by Nintendo classics will be more modern than ever. As seen in Nintendo’s Treehouse Live E3 2021 gameplay stream, WarioWare: unite! will include games based on Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and splash.
And that seems to include a microgame based on Fire Emblem: Three Housesthe delicious tea time segments, the light moments of simulation of meetings which allow to better know the characters of the game (and sometimes to make them blush). We got a micro-tease of this micro-game during Nintendo’s broadcast today:
The folks at Nintendo Treehouse also offered a preview of a few other Nintendo-inspired games, including one inspired by the model. Luigi’s mansion and another based on the classic 8-bit Ice climber. There is also at least one Animal crossing: New Horizons-an inspired micro-game, in which players have to shoot down and “give” a gift. (But they didn’t show much, so as not to spoil the deliciously surprising stream of microgames that are traditionally packaged in WarioWare.)
In previous WarioWare games, the 9-Volt library of Nintendo-themed games was inspired by 8-bit and 16-bit Nintendo classics like Excitbike, Super Mario Bros., F-Zero, Duck hunting, and Donkey kong, as well as Nintendo’s pre-video game products (Ultra Hand, hanafuda cards, etc.). But Nintendo has also created WarioWare microgames based on newer products, like amiibo, Brain age, the creator of Mii and Nintendogs.
WarioWare: unite! will be released on September 10 for Nintendo Switch.
