“I think it was a solid performance,” he said. “I started extremely well, I didn’t do too many things wrong in the first five or six games.

“A break of serve in the second and third sets was enough and it’s up to Marton to hang on. He had a great tournament.

“Going for the story is a big inspiration to me – let’s keep it up.”

Things looked threatening for Fucsovics when Djokovic took a 5-0 lead and scored two set points in the first 25 minutes.

But the underdog pushed those back to finally get a match on the chessboard and, amid plenty of cheering from the crowd, managed to break through the next, only the fourth time that Djokovic had lost his serve overall. of the tournament.
